Shop Sew Fun Patterns
A long awaited project…
We are beyond excited to introduce the first tier of our very own Sew Fun Patterns! This has been a dream since Sew Fun began and to see it coming to fruition is so satisfying! A lot of time and energy has been put into creating these patterns a certain way and they are unlike anything else on the market. They are specifically catered to children so they can learn to sew or build on their existing sewing skills. Of course, they can be used by adults as well but the focus was to make simple, easy to understand patterns that would be enjoyable and enlightening. After over ten years of experience teaching and hundreds and hundreds of students, there is a very specific order and way we teach at Sew Fun as well as our own lingo, all to make it fun and easy to understand.
And keep a look out for more patterns to come, we’re working on getting all your favorites done plus more!
Why order a Sew Fun Pattern?
They are simple and easy to understand.
If you or your child has taken a class at Sew Fun, the instructions will be the same as what they have learned with more!
Every pattern purchase comes with an online video library that explains how to thread your machine, put together a PDF pattern, troubleshoot and breaks down each skill involved in making that particular pattern.
The instructions are fully illustrated in beautiful and detailed pictures to assist you.
You will build your sewing skills doing something fun- not frustrating!
You are supporting a small business!

All patterns are PDF.
What does that mean?
When you purchase a pattern you will receive a download of the instructions as well as the pattern. The pattern can then be printed off on any regular printer and is taped together like a puzzle. You will also receive a password protected link to your online video library that will explain everything you need to know to get started.
Video Library
Each PDF pattern comes with an online video library. This is an extensive library with 16-20 videos explaining each step of the process of making your pattern as well as 8 videos on learning your machine, technique videos and troubleshooting videos. These are valuable resources that will make your sewing journey simpler and easier to understand which means it will be fun!
Pattern Companies
This company has some really sweet patterns.
There are so many patterns from this company, and a good many free options too.
This company has lots of Tween/Teen patterns and beautiful dresses.
Why use independent pattern companies?
They are so much better! :) The main complaint of big pattern companies like Vogue, McCalls, etc. is that the instructions are so difficult to follow. These independent companies work really hard to have very detailed and photographed instructions that don’t assume you know any hidden steps. I think older kids will be able to easily follow the instructions on their own. The patterns are delievered as PDF patterns which means you will receive a download that you will print and tape all the pages together to create a big sheet of paper. This is the only downfall of PDF patterns but there are a few tricks to make it easier. Make sure you cut the right side and bottom side of each paper along the border. This makes it easier to tape the matching points. You can also have it printed as an enginneer print at a copy shop for around $8 and avoid the taping. Still worth it for the instructions! If you don’t like my options just search the kind of pattern you’re looking for and say PDF. (Ex. “Flutter sleeve dress PDF pattern”)
